Thrift Shopping: Dark Grunge Shirt

It’s been awhile since I went thrift shopping for clothes. I wish I could say I was simply saving up for a Ibanez Amplifiers but that’s hardly the case. I was on a self-imposed clothes shopping diet. Lol.

I’ve too much clothes and I spent last week cleaning out my closet, segregating things I don’t use anymore and packing it up to give to some charity. So now at least the closet has some breathing space. And I could give myself a little leeway when it came to my shopping ban.

My sister has been bugging me to go thrift hunting coz she wanted some skirts. The Japanese thrift shop we usually go to has some seriously awesome skirts and lucky for her, she’s teeny tiny like those very slim Japanese ladies so she can fit in them. I’m jealous, yeah. So last week we went there and while she has been browsing and fitting, I also checked out some stuff.

I bought mostly things for my daughter. Comfy shirts for home use. As for myself, I just found one. A sleeveless grunge themed shirt. Love this to bits. And its just $0.50. I think its just perfect with a low rise jeans or a denim shorts.

Share a Thrift Hunt: Skirt-sy!

Whenever I go thrift shopping, I always make sure I check the teens/kids section for something for my daughter. She loves my second hand clothing finds for her. And we both love mix and matching those finds.

On a recent thrift shopping trip, I found some skirts for her. The first one a pale blue layered skirt with eyelet design. This one’s gorgeous and now her favorite skirt. She says it makes her feel like a princess. Lol! The second one is a checkered and pleated skirt. Also very nice and she loves wearing this to school.

I know the photos look like its all crumpled. I guess I was too excited about the finds that I snapped photos without even washing or ironing them. Do forgive this too excited thrifter.

Both skirts for just $0.50!! A fab deal. You have to stop wondering why I love thrift shopping. I get the same high as cigar collectors finding lowest cigar prices and deals.

Today’s Thrift Buys @Toto Recycle Shop Phnom Penh

Thrift Hunting Meme

It has been ages since I went thrifting! And I miss it soo badly.  Finally, today I could go to our favorite thrifting haunt – Japan Thrift Shop (Toto Recycle Shop) Phnom Penh and I got to satisfy my retail cravings and spent less than $3!! I feel really good about shopping like this and bringing home best buys. At the very least I won’t go into debt if I shop like this. And my penny pinching streak is particularly nasty right after Christmas so shopping thrift is really a great thing for me.

What did I unearth today? Please pardon the photos and the clothes, still all wrinkled. I guess I was too excited about the loot so I took photos without washing or ironing these..

Got this a few months back on a thrifting hunt. Both from Japan Thrift Shop and got it for $0.50 each. Original price was $1 each but since I was with my sister who hoarded a lot of tops, we got a 50% off all items.

I love love the grey jacket. It’s lightweight and the fabric so soft. I think this would end up my daily wear if the weather becomes chilly at the end of the year. The turtle neck sweatshirt is also nice. Almost new, fabric is soft and the fit snug and lovely.

My Thrifty Tank Top Frenzy

This post is actually spurned on by the Phnom Penh summer heat and well, my closet cleaning yesterday. I was digging through my closet to look for summer clothes I can wear and I was on the dig particularly for tank tops. It could get really hot and sweltering here in Phnom Penh so the best thing to have are tank tops!

I have piles of ‘house wear’ tank tops and I just realized I got majority of them on thrift! In fact, a lot of my house clothes are thrifted! Why? It’s practical and I think I’m lucky enough to find goodies made of cotton {which I prefer} on thrift shops. I also like wearing sleeveless shirts at home. It allows me freedom of movement, its lightweight and helps me beat the heat.

Here’s just two of my favorites..

Both of them I got for only 1000 Riels ($.25). I could get this price coz I usually buy more than 10 pcs and that’s 50% off.  I think I know what to hunt for next time were out thrifting again… More tank tops!

Yeah I’m late for the meme hahaha! I went to sleep early last night coz I think I’m coming down with colds. Anyway, today’s entry is something I got from Phnom Penh’s Japan Thrift Shop. The Peluka sisters went there after coffee and a hearty lunch and as usual got tons of good buys.

This is a rare feat for me to take a photo of the kiddo but she liked the hat and top so much she consented to me snapping photos of her. She even posed. Lol!
