Gmarket Haul #10: Skincare Mini Haul

I did a mini haul last weekend with a friend. Mostly skin care items.

Everything was pretty straight forward, domestic and international shipping hassle free. Although the Cambodian customs officials said they should charge 50% of the item cost as tax because ‘cosmetics are expensive’. Well I don’t get that crap, or was it just an unlucky day for us? Anyway, after much cajoling, they still let us go without paying anything. So that’s saying something.

I’ve been itching to try out the snail cream products from Korea but I was really hesitant to go for pricey products. I figured I want to try if the ‘snail’ component agrees with me before I made a purchase for the pricier sets. I searched Gmarket, read a lot of blogs and decided to go for this value for money Secret Key Snail+ EGF Repairing set (Seller).

Gmarket Haul #10: Secret Key Snail+ EGF Set

Haven’t tried this yet, but the packaging is nice. Sure it doesn’t look luxurious, nor does it look cutesy patootsie. It’s not cheap looking either. This set is really good value, roughly about $28 and it includes a facial foam, toner, emulsion, essence, eye cream, gel cream and snail cream. They also packed in 3 mask sheets and a sample of Angel Tears relief cream.

Gmarket Haul #10: Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream

I also ordered Mizon’s Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream (yes, I have a thing about eye creams! I have loads of them). I love the packaging on this one. This one is around $9.20 (Seller).

Gmarket Haul #10: Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Case

Also, I’ve been hunting down a nice case for my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and here’s what I picked. Very good item, well made and I’m pretty sure a lot more sturdy than the one I bought here. $16+ from this (Seller).

My friend’s order. I didn’t have any intention of including this on this ‘review’ but the customs people opened each and every box except for the eyeliner from Holika Holika so I figured I might as well take a pic of her order.

Gmarket Haul #9: Yarn Happy and Fit!

It’s a weird combination right? Yarn and fitness stuff. Yarns sound more compatible with say labello cutesy cosmetics or flowers or perhaps kawaii fabrics. But that weird combo is so ME. I happen to be crazy about crafting and crocheting and if you’ve seen my previous post, I could happily spend my life, stashing yarns. Ha!

But crocheting and crocheting some more is really not doing much for my belly. So I have to balance things you know. Hahaha! So on this haul, I’ve decided to buy a resistance band (coz my old one went haywire already), a yoga mat (I wanted to try a Korean made one) and lots and lots of yarn.

To be honest, since I discovered Gmarket I’ve been staring and ooohhh ahhhing over the yarns, but for some reason I held back from ordering. But now I’ve decided to give it a try and see how the quality is and if its worth the cost.

This whole buying and shipping took just a week, it was so quick some of the items were shipped out a few hours after I ordered. Korean domestic couriers really impress me. And as usual with Gmarket I wasn’t surprised I got a huge box. Seriously I could fit in this one already. And of course, its half full. But the size is all because of the yoga mat I think.

So on to the haul. My yoga mat (4mm) and resistance band (#2) { Seller Link}- very good. I was surprised coz I only picked the 4mm size so I expected it to be flimsy. It’s not the best, but already good enough for my daily yoga practice. And I so love the resistance band. I promise this is going to unleash some life/muscle/tone to my triceps. Ha!

Gmarket Hauul #9 Crochet Hooks

Crochet hooks { Seller}. The only one I’m bitterly disappointed with. I didn’t actually need this but the photo on the page looked good. And it was cheap so I added 3 pieces thinking it’ll come in handy because I want to try making lace like fabric and these sizes are great as well for amigurumi dolls. But these were so low quality. The handles were even dirty and the metal was not good quality. I would steer clear of this seller.

Gmarket Haul #9 - Acrylic Yarns

And from another seller I bought a stash of basic acrylic yarns and soft bebe fluffy yarns {Seller Link}. The basic yarns are smallish but the quality is really good. The strands are well threaded together and doesn’t feel too spongy nor is it itchy. I only wish they had bigger sizes than this. But let’s just say, I’ll have this on my bucket list for yarns from now. It’s very affordable too, just about a $1.5 each.

Woot! I Won Some WON Again!

Gah! I just love Gmarket! If you’re an occasional reader of this blog, you’d know that I’m just about crazy in love with Gmarket Korea.

It’s one great place to shop. I love grabbing discounts, coupons, waiting for super sale events from Korean cosmetic brands. In fact, a lot of my Christmas gifts for friends were stuff I bought on super sale at Gmarket. Imagine buying a $15 worth bag for only $2? A huge huge savings. And its also great to buy cosmetics from them coz most sellers are extremely generous, they give out lots and lots of freebies.

And best of all, everytime I buy I blog about it. And they have a monthly contest where you can submit your blog entries and they will raffle it off and you get the chance to win at least 50,000 Won shopping money. That’s almost $50 worth of shopping goodies!! Not a bad deal at all when all you have to do is take pics of your purchases and blog about it. In fact, I won this 3 times already and I bought a lot of stuff already with these winnings.

So now I have another 50,000 Won on my account, just waiting to be spent. Hmmm. What should I buy? Hubby suggests we buy a karaoke machine. Lol. He has a thing about karaoke and has been wanting something similar to the karaoke machine at guitar center. But I think that would be pricey so I’ll save up the GC and add a bit more when I have spare money on my online account so I could buy one.

Gmarket Haul #7: Just in Time For Christmas

It hasn’t really been long since my last shopping haul from Gmarket. I guess you can really say now that I’m Gmarket addicted. And that addiction gets stronger when there are sale events, and when I’ve got lots of discount coupons on hand. I figured since its Christmas season anyway, I might as well indulge myself and do more shopping. I bought mostly stuff for my daughter and my husband. As for myself, I wanted to buy some fashion jewelry, and I’ve been wanting sterling silver cross but in the end, I decided not to go for it.

Instead I bought myself a small laptop table in cherry red. Woot! I’ve been wanting this since… well, since I started blogging. I have this crazy habit of writing usually late at night and I always crouch with my laptop on my bed and I fear I’ll be a hunch back before I turn 35. Lol.

Anyway, I placed the order on November 26 (yes, I’m early coz I fear the Christmas shipping delays) and almost all of my items were at the warehouse already on November 28. Except for my order of face masks. It took more than 5 days. Seriously! The longest I’ve experienced when it comes to domestic shipping on GM. It was an error and mix-up on the part of the seller.

Thankfully, before I could seriously get pissed, the face mask arrived and my package was shipped out on Dec 5th. From then on it was a short 2 day wait and I got it safe and sound.

And on a HUGE box, in fact, my daughter can fit inside it!! Once she saw it, she asked me if I bought a refrigerator. Hahahaha! Even the EMS people were stumped at how huge the box was, since it was more than 1m in width. But unlike my previous buys, it was packed full!

Men's Dress Shirts - Gmarket Haul #7

My husband is extremely picky with his shirts. And were always hard pressed to find good ones that would fit him. Well, until one of his friends gave him a gift, a Korean made dress shirt. He liked the fit and I loved the fabric. They weren’t easily creased. So I  bought him a few more and luckily these are on sale. 10900 Won for each? Not a bad deal. {Seller Link}

 Gmarket Haul #7 - Konapun Bandai Cooking Toys

Bandai Konapun Cooking Toys – Cake House 23500Won {Seller Link}. This actually the main reason for this haul. My daughter has been bugging me to buy her this awesome toy for months already. I guess I had to give in. I made a mistake when I ordered this, I thought I ordered a burger house and a cake house. Turned out I added both cake house. But anyway, its well and good because its not just my daughter who is playing with this now. I’m actually loving it myself!

By far my most favorite of this haul. Why? Coz I got it on super sale. I wasn’t planning to buy any bags, but I saw that {Seller} was having a 1-day sale, I just had to grab two. And its totally worth it. Gorgeous bag for only 3900W each!

Gmarket Haul #7 - Face Masks

Face Masks 10900 for 40pcs {Seller Link} – the item that almost drove me nuts. There was a shipping error and it took 6 days to reach GMarket’s warehouse. Thankfully, this is one value item. 40 face masks in avocado, lemon, propolis, and tomato and I also got 4 free masks. Recommended item, but I’m kinda wary about this seller.

Waiting for Another Gmarket Spree

Okay, I’m now openly calling this an addiction, a Gmarket addiction that is.

See, I just bought some stuff two weeks ago, even if most of them were for my sis..but still! You know browsing Gmarket is like being in a lab furnace, you really can’t escape being burned. But burned in a good way.

So right now, I’m pretty much twiddling my thumbs waiting for my package to arrive. I have been checking the domestic tracking like mad. Hahaha. All of my orders are in GM warehouse already, save for one item. I hope it gets through today, so they can ship it out today or tomorrow. Which would mean I could have my box on Saturday or Monday. And I would be HAPPY!

Hahaha! I’m so obviously nuts, but I can’t help but be excited about this haul. You see, I bought gifts for my daughter, some stuff for my husband, a really cool laptop table I had been wanting for ages, and I also chanced upon a bag sale and I got two bags for 3900Won each only.

So I want my Christmas a bit earlier! Actually I’m excited for the toys for my daughter. She has been wanting this Konapun Bandai toys for awhile already. She’s absolutely nuts about them, even spending a lot of time checking out Youtube videos on how to ‘cook’ using the Konapun miniature cooking sets. That’s the main reason I’m so eager for this haul: the look on her face when she sees her much coveted Konapun toys…

Hmmm. I think I should exercise a bit more patience. But its hard. That’s how exciting GM shopping is. It’s like being 9 years old and its Christmas day..

Gmarket Haul #6: Some Things Off My Wishlist

Here’s our latest Gmarket haul, after holding out successfully for almost three months! That’s a nice record for me. And I would have extended the no-shopping rule if not for my sister who’s just ‘dying’ {her words} without her BB cream and a new bag. So since I’m buying stuff for her I decided to add a few more stuff coz of the shipping promo and really when it comes to GM shopping, the more you buy the better shipping rates.

I actually just shopped for stuff that’s been on my wishlist for awhile already. Mostly just stuff my daughter picked out and some cosmetics from Holika Holika. I still have a lot on my list. Hahaha, I think that’s the Gmarket effect, you’ll even find yourself adding pearl flutes on your wishlist.

When I placed the order I was extra apprehensive coz I read on GM’s Facebook page about some shipping delays with a lot of international orders. But since the BB cream can’t wait (hahaha), I made the order on November 2,2012. Everything was delivered fast except for my shirt order. One of the items were out of stock, but I was immediately refunded.  My package was shipped out of Korea on November 6th. I picked up the package November 13th. The delay was mostly because of some Cambodian holiday.

 The box was extra big, but very light which is pretty much the norm for Gmarket. I was hoping for a smaller box since we didn’t buy any bulky stuff but the box we got was big. And the inside was just around half-full..

Holika Holika was having a promotion so I got a couple of things from them.. (1) Luminous Silk BB Cream {link} (2)  Jewel-light Waterproof Eyeliner in two colors 09 & 10 {link}. We got a box of cotton pads and some samples for free. I also bought Organia Aloe Soothing Gel on 1+1+1 promotion for only 9,900Won {link}

 The kiddo wanted these skirt leggings, I got the pink and grey for her {link}. This was really well made, very very comfy. The material is not flimsy at all, thick but not hot. Recommended seller and product. Be mindful of the sizing, I picked size #15 and it fits just right for a tall 9 year old.

I also got a few brasseries {link} and they are very good as well. I just bought 3 pairs to sample them and they are very good. So I’m planning on buying more from this seller. Lastly, I ordered two loose shirts {link}. I wanted them so I could use them with leggings, add a belt etc and they look very versatile and comfy. Too bad the other shirt went out of stock (P008), so I just got the green (P011) sleeveless shirt. Its Made in Korea, and the material is soft and comfortable.

And a black bag (K17020)  for my sister {link} and hair bands for the kiddo {link}. We love hair accessories from this seller. They last really long, look cute and very affordable.

 

This was a very good haul. I’m actually itching to do another ‘just in time for Christmas’ shopping haul..
