Gmarket Haul #10: Skincare Mini Haul

I did a mini haul last weekend with a friend. Mostly skin care items.

Everything was pretty straight forward, domestic and international shipping hassle free. Although the Cambodian customs officials said they should charge 50% of the item cost as tax because ‘cosmetics are expensive’. Well I don’t get that crap, or was it just an unlucky day for us? Anyway, after much cajoling, they still let us go without paying anything. So that’s saying something.

Gmarket Haul #10: Skin Care

I’ve been itching to try out the snail cream products from Korea but I was really hesitant to go for pricey products. I figured I want to try if the ‘snail’ component agrees with me before I made a purchase for the pricier sets. I searched Gmarket, read a lot of blogs and decided to go for this value for money Secret Key Snail+ EGF Repairing set (Seller).

Gmarket Haul #10: Secret Key Snail+ EGF Set

Haven’t tried this yet, but the packaging is nice. Sure it doesn’t look luxurious, nor does it look cutesy patootsie. It’s not cheap looking either. This set is really good value, roughly about $28 and it includes a facial foam, toner, emulsion, essence, eye cream, gel cream and snail cream. They also packed in 3 mask sheets and a sample of Angel Tears relief cream.

Gmarket Haul #10: Mizon Snail Repair Eye Cream

I also ordered Mizon’s Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream (yes, I have a thing about eye creams! I have loads of them). I love the packaging on this one. This one is around $9.20 (Seller).

Gmarket Haul #10: Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Case

Also, I’ve been hunting down a nice case for my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and here’s what I picked. Very good item, well made and I’m pretty sure a lot more sturdy than the one I bought here. $16+ from this (Seller).

My friend’s order. I didn’t have any intention of including this on this ‘review’ but the customs people opened each and every box except for the eyeliner from Holika Holika so I figured I might as well take a pic of her order.

Gmarket Haul #10: Lacvert Cleansing Foam

Lacvert Perfect Cleansing 3-in-1 Foam, $8.30 for 2+ 1 item. (Seller) and Holika Holika Jewel Light Eyeliner, $4.55 (Seller)

Waiting..

You know what’s really great about online shopping? I think the anticipation and it always feel like Christmas whenever you get your package. Ha! Can you imagine getting your fender custom shop at Guitar Center and giddily waiting for it? The suspense and waiting makes the unwrapping totally blissful.

Anyway, what am I waiting for? Just a small Gmarket haul with cosmetics and skin care products. I do like pampering myself once in a while. My package is down at the post already and I asked hubby to just pick it up for me. Can’t wait for the unwrapping!!!

Easy Fashion Shopping Tips for the Budget Conscious

Easy Fashion Shopping Tips for the Budget Conscious

Shopping for clothes is fun, fun, fun. Perhaps the only thing not happy with a fashion shopping expedition is our wallet. Ha! I think they’d be much happier if we just go out and buy wedding string lights instead of arm loads of clothes.

Anyway, I’m personally very budget conscious when it comes to buying clothing. I usually go for items that are worth buying, appeals to my fashion style and yes, I usually buy when its on sale or discounted.

The Ladies in Red

For the budget conscious, here’s some shopping tips from a fellow budget conscious shopper:

  • Factory oulets and discount stores – yup. They are worth checking out. Some carry irregular items {or items with small flaws} or items from last seasons collection. If you don’t need to wear very current items, this will be a treasure trove.
  • Pay more for items that you know you need to be durable like outerwear. It’s always more budget friendly in the end to spend a bit more on stuff you will use more often.
  • Thrift shops!! – oh yes! fancy vintage and retro stuff? this is the place to score fabulous items at really bargain prices.
  • Have a plan before heading out to shop. Keep a list {or a mental list} of what you have decided to purchase. If its shirt, then limit yourself to just shirts.
  • Coordinate and mix and match- why buy a whole outfit when you can just shop for one piece to match a skirt or jeans already in your wardrobe. You need not have everything to be new, just be creative with what you currently have and buy add ons to spruce it up and make it interesting.

Hunting for an Entry Level Computer

Okay, now its starting to sink in to me that times have changed.

Whilst before {during my time.. hahaha!} we didn’t really need computers until I got into high school. But kids nowadays are well versed on gadgetry and are introduced to computer and technology at earlier ages.

While I try to regulate the time my daughter spends on the computer, I also acknowledge the need for her to be on her toes, to be aware of the current tech trends. Also, I realize she uses the computer for research for her school projects.

We have a family desktop she uses often, but lately its been really clunky {perhaps owing to its age?} and I didn’t really pay attention to its maintenance since only my daughter uses it. Hubby and I both have our work laptops. But recently, kiddo has been saying it badly needs to have spring loaded knives stuck to it.

So I thought, perhaps its time to buy her own computer. I’m mulling over getting her a desktop or an entry level laptop. I don’t want to buy something pricey since she will just be using it for word processing, browsing. And I’m really liking this deal.
