On Vacation..

Yes, I’m on  vacation and blogging from Albay, Philippines right now. I’m here for All Soul’s and All Saints Day and for a family get together since we all won’t be able to come home for Christmas in December. I also have tons of things to do, visit my OB-Gyne, my dermatologist for laser treatment for my mole hehe (yes, I’m vain) . I also need to process my transcript of re cords and help my mom process her passport.

Now that I have this in writing, I now conclude this isn’t a vacation afterall. Lol. My schedule is more hectic than if I’m here to look for Technical Trainer Jobs! Anyway, were having a good time so far. And thankfully, the weather is really nice so I think I’ll be able to do what I plan to do and some more. Till later.

Market Haul: Cheap Clothes Below $10

Market Haul: Cheap Clothes Below $10

Got this stuff a couple of weeks back. :) I usually do my ‘food buying’ at Russian Market, Phnom Penh. It’s very near our place and aside from food and usual market stuff you can also find hidden gems. Rows of stalls selling factory over run clothing from various garment factories. So if you’re lucky you can get lots of nice branded items for usually just a pittance. Like this mini-market haul.

I set out to look for some workout/walking shorts. I already checked out some ‘real’ stores and I wasn’t particularly impressed with the selection or the prices so I figured I should probably check the market for some overruns. I’ve been doing regular walking exercises a couple of times per week and I was in need of more workout clothes. I checked some stalls inside Russian Market and found these:

Russian Market Buys- Workout Shorts

2 Workout shorts for only $2.5 each

Russian Market Buys - Red Dress

and a bonus to self (for daring to do something about my weight! hahaha) – a red polka dot dress for only $3.5

So yeah, I got really brand new, good quality clothes for just $8.5! The thrift hunter in me can’t help but be ecstatic with this buy. I’m also pretty glad, this workout routine is working and although I think I need to diet more lol, I still think appetite suppressants for men or women are things I don’t really need. And hopefully sometime soon I would look real nice in that red dress. hahaha. Wishful thinking! But if I may say so, even now it looks nice on me. And it pleases me more I got it for cheap.

Gmarket Shopping Haul # 2

It’s safe to say I’m officially a Gmarket addict. Lol. I got my 1st Gmarket order on September 30th and 7 days after that I placed an order again. This time it was a collective haul with my friends DonyaBooding and Sam. I guess I’ve been raving too much about Gmarket that they decided to check it out. Here’s our order time line:

  • Total Number of Items: 14 items
  • Orders Placed: October 7, 2011
  • Domestic Delivery Completed: October 12, 2011 *
  • Shipped Out of Korea: October 13, 2011
  • Packaged Received (Cambodia): October 17, 2003**
* all items were at the GM Warehouse before Oct 11. It was only my order of facial mask that was delayed and delivered on the 12th
** EMS usually takes a day or two to arrive here in Phnom Penh so I was a bit stumped that they were late. We had to wait the whole weekend, but I let that go since GM has been really nice as to contact EMS when the tracking was not working.
Now as for our haul. You’ll only be seeing the stuff I bought. Lol.. I ordered hair accessories for my daughter, 2 bags,a shoe, a cardigan, leggings/stockings, VOV facial masks.
Gmarket Shopping Haul #2
The box: As usual it was big and I wasn’t even surprised anymore. But it was so light Sreisaat managed to carry it one hand from the PO. Lol. At least she’s getting a more toned muscle.

Shopping Haul: Cheap and Chic Over Runs

Thrift Hunting Meme

Hi! I’m sharing another thrift shopping haul. I would call this a ‘thrift haul’ since these are factory overuns and I got them really cheap. There a lot of garment factories where I live and some of their overuns you can find in the markets at a really bargain price. Staple brands like GAP, CK, H & M, Ambercrombie, US department in-store brands for Kmart and the like. You’ll just need some patience sorting out the stuff. And also they come in limited quantities and sizes.

A week ago, I’ve been mulling over what to give myself for Christmas. A little early but I prefer it that way, no rush. Last year, I got myself a wii. I was planning to get a wii black but I was suckered by a great deal I found on Amazon and bought a white one. No difference anyway except for the color.

This time though, I decided to have a wardrobe update. I haven’t really done much shopping in terms of clothes. Mostly one off, second hand finds. So I went off to a market and scored these fab deals.

Russian Market Factory Overuns Shopping Haul

Leggings – in pink and black for $2 each; Tank Tops – lycra and cotton, navy, mocha and white; 3 for $5; One-Piece Floral Dresses – $3 each; Cardigans – gray and wine, $3 each. All in all I spent $21 and I got stuff I could easily mix and match. Happy Shopper here :) )

Soon…Gmarket Tutorials

Would you believe I haven’t done any thrifting and shopping here for the past few weeks? I guess my obsession with Gmarket is working well for me. Lol. I get to pick out and mull over items a hundred times before actually hitting the ‘Pay Now’ button. That’s not to say my ‘shopping cart’ is not brimming with goodies and my wishlist filled to the hilt. I find lots of amazingly cute and unique goodies over there, I even saw a dead sea nail kit and now I want a mini vacuum for fabrics.

And after my first haul, I have friends, some readers and a lot of relatives asking me about how to shop at Gmarket. Instead of answering those questions one by one, I figured its better to put up a series of posts on how to do your shopping in Gmarket.

At first glance, the site is confusing and you’d be at a loss. Don’t be afraid though, with a little help from any translation tool and loads of patience, you’ll find yourself maybe as crazy as me about this site. I have decided on taking on this motto when it comes to shopping at Gmarket: ‘No Pain. No Gain.’ Hahaha..

I’m now working on screenshots for the Gmarket Tutorial and will be posting it asap.
