Gmarket Shopping Haul #1

Oh yes, I’m definitely putting numbers on my Gmarket Haul posts. Coz I’m so pleased that I’m sure I’ll be shopping in this site again and again. I think its safe to say I’ll be getting addicted to shopping on Gmarket. It may require a bit of patience and getting used to but its all worth it. There are lots of goodies in there just waiting for shopoholics  and bargain shoppers like me heh. And I’m pretty much excited I discovered this shop right in time for Christmas shopping! My there are loads of cutie stuff I could grab for kids and my friends, and of course hubby and myself. When I mean ‘loads’ I really mean ‘loads’ of stuff, in fact if you look for triton wedding bands there, I’m sure you can find some. That’s how extensive their product selection is.

What got me bubbling with delight is that I got my first Gmarket haul today!!! Actually, the whole package arrived here in Cambodia last week, just a day after it was shipped from Korea. But alas, it was time for the Pchum Ben holidays so my Gmarket package was stuck in EMS. But yesterday, I got a call to pick up the box and I went today! I wasn’t charged any customs/duties fee, I was charged a storage fee though but it was only $2+.

Be forewarned: This is a photo heavy post :) ) I can’t help myself..

This is how the package looks like. A bit battered but whole. And I was surprised coz the box was big, but it was lightweight, just about 1.70 kg.

Hmm, the boxes were bulky but I guess that can’t be helped since these are from different sellers. The good thing about it is that products are really well packed and the boxes provides an added padding.

Preview: My First GMarket Haul

I think I might just die of excitement so I’m just resorting to writing a preview hahaha. A few weeks ago I stumbled across a Korea-based shopping platform called Gmarket. I got curious and started to explore the site. Registration is free and I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of goodies one can get from this site. GMarket is owned by Ebay and its basically a platform where sellers can sell their goodies. What’s really great about is that if you are an international buyer, they have a consolidation and shipping service that I find really nice and affordable.

Gmarket Korea Global Site

Gmarket Korea Global Site

Now as for the goodies, well it has everything from clothing, bags {yes!!!! Bags}, shoes, cosmetics and skin care to whole smorgasbord of items you’ll get dizzy just trying to browse. I bet if you look for breeches there, you’ll find one. This is a definite shopoholic destination specially if you have a penchant for top of the line Korean cosmetics as well as affordable but quality Korean apparel. Once I got interested, I began scouring the web for user reviews and shopping hauls. And I found tons of people already addicted to shopping at Gmarket and I enjoyed a week or so reading their reviews. Let’s say 95% of them had fabulous shopping experience with this site.

So then, I’m convinced to give it a go. I won’t {for now} be posting a ‘how to’ shop at Gmarket tut here coz frankly there are tons of guides all over the net, so just Google and you’ll find some helpful bloggers who already put up a guide on shopping at the shopping haven that is Gmarket. I might do a Gmarket Help series once I get the total once over the site.  A word of advice, acquaint yourself with a web translation tool like Google Translate so your Gmarket shopping life would be easier.

Since this is my first time to do Gmarket shopping, I have to do things in stride and spend only a moderate amount. I promised myself I won’t spend over $70. So here’s a preview of the loot.

LightintheBox – Mini Gadget Haul

I shop a lot online. Why? It’s convenient, I get to grab items that are unique and big savings too. That is something a thrift hunter like me won’t resist. I usually go to wholesale sites, private sale event sites as well as auction sites for my buys. And since a lot of people seems to be interested in ‘shopping haul’ posts as well as seeing reviews of items purchased online, then I’ll be including my hauls on this site as well. Lately also, I’ve been exploring Asia based sites. It just caught my interest coz most items are cheap and the shipping not that hard on the pocket since I’m living in Asia too.

Just recently I tried to purchase cheap electronics from LightintheBox. A China based online shop specializing in affordable non-branded electronics. I wrote a review about the phone and MP3 + accessories I bought from LightintheBox. I was moderately impressed with the whole thing specially the price and I’m all the more impressed coz till now all items I bought are still working. LOL! I was expecting it to konk out a week after it got here. But yay! I got more confidence now that at least I have a good chance this things will actually work. This is definitely one shop to check out for small gadgets but I wouldn’t recommend searching for hp netbooks here. Go to the real shop for that.

I did another round of shopping at LightintheBox, but this time it was a mini haul. Mostly small things that I find hard to buy here in Phnom Penh. Small gadgetry from LightintheBox and their gadget shop – MiniintheBox usually comes with free shipping so I was giddy. Here are the goodies.

Adorably Cute at Adorable Prices..

The crazy hot Phnom Penh weather and my budget won’t allow me to go all out shopping {yes! even thrifting is on diet lol!} at this time. So to satisfy my shopping urge, I just do my bit of Online Window Surf Shopping. This is actually one of my favorite pastimes. I get to see what’s new, I somehow give in to the crave to shop, and I don’t spend a dime. Today, I was deciding on what to OWSS? Should I go look for snow chains for trucks or should I go surf shopping for adorable baby stuff?

Of course the baby stuff won out since I’m a mom, but I don’t have a baby so I could just dream on and drool over these super adorable baby things. If you’re shopping for baby and maternity things, then Zulily Events is a must visit. It’s a private shopping site that caters to kiddos and moms. And even just a visit and a look around there would never fail to charm and uplift anyone. It’s just adorable. Go visit the site and sign up for free at Zulily. And did I mention that all events here offer huge discounts on designer mom and baby brands? All the more reason to sign up.

Just to give you a taste of the cuteness…Here’s some of my picks of the items currently on sale at Zulily.
